GP2024 Second-Half Kickoff. The Central Concept Was To “Make a GP Wave.”

2024.10.11

Hello! I am Komatsu, in charge of the GMO Global Studio at Global Produce. On Monday, September 2, the GP Second-Half Kickoff was held.

The theme of this kickoff was to “Make a GP Wave.”

The kickoff began with a speech by Mr. Shiota from the Management Department, followed by presentations from President Kouhata and other employees, and concluded with some group discussions.

It was a fulfilling day where awareness, policies, and ideas for creating a big wave in the industry were shared. Let’s take a closer look at what the “Make a GP Wave” kickoff was!

Opening speech by Mr. Shiota from the Management Department

This kickoff started with an opening speech by Mr. Shiota from the Management Department, who was appointed as the MC.

In his speech, Mr. Shiota, who regularly oversees GP as part of the Management Department, talked about the company and its employees, reaffirming the organization we work in.

This reaffirmation of being a part of GP served as an opportunity for each employee to further boost their motivation, in preparation for the upcoming second half of the year!

Presentation by President Kouhata

President Kouhata’s presentation covered a wide range of topics, including a “Review of the First Half,” “Expectations for GP Members,” and “Outlook for the Second Half.” The well-structured yet passionate presentation left a deep impression.

Three Strengths
“If I were to choose the strengths of GP, I believe there are three key points”:

1 GP has leading companies in each industry as clients.
With the expertise we have developed through hosting events, we can support your company via event production, whether your company is in the IT industry, major human resources industry, cosmetics industry, automotive industry, or the pharmaceutical industry.

2 GP creates a sense of beauty.
We pursue “coolness,” “dynamism,” “craziness,” and “modernism” beyond standard business events, through concepts, storylines, hospitality, and the aesthetic sides of stage design.

3 GP collaborates with top professionals in the industry.
We work with directors, designers, stage art designers, as well as video filming and editing team, incorporating the latest technological equipment, and we also work with global event companies.

The most striking part was the slide on “What We Cherish.” This slide was created for the new company profile, with President Kouhata rewriting it over ten times, refining the words. These sentiments are conveyed through GP’s work, leading to amazing experiences at our events.

“What We Cherish” (Excerpt from the New Company Profile)

What is your most memorable moment as an adult?
Who were you with at that time?
Surely, all of you have had various memories and moments that moved your hearts.
Gathering together, seeing, listening, touching, smelling, eating, and moving together.
Thinking, being surprised, feeling proud, sometimes shedding tears, and achieving together.
These are things that cannot be found on the web or on TV.
Events create special moments that reach the five senses, and can be experienced with others.
That emotional moment will undoubtedly become the driving force to accomplish something great.

We at Global Produce believe in the power of event production.
Through the power of events, we energize those who are doing their best in daily life.
The power of each event makes the world a little better.
BRING HAPPINESS TO THE WORLD THROUGH EVENTS.
This is our belief at Global Produce.
All staff

In addition to specific policies for the second half of the year, the presentation also touched on the mindset and attitude required for producing events, making it a valuable learning experience. It was a precious occasion that helped each employee re-recognize their roles and responsibilities, and provided a clear direction for how to approach the upcoming second half.

Various announcements from GP members

In addition to the presentations, there were reports on various projects by employees during the kickoff.

The sustainability promotion project, “Bring Happiness Project”

Named after GP’s vision of “BRING HAPPINESS TO THE WORLD THROUGH EVENTS,” the “Bring Happiness Project,” or BH Project, leads GP’s efforts toward sustainability.

During this kickoff, the BH Project provided an internal report on activities in order to promote sustainability, introducing specific initiatives and achievements. It also served as an important opportunity to raise awareness of sustainability, ensuring a shared understanding among all employees.

Through our work, we thought about how we could contribute even a little to a sustainable future.
Starting with “reducing the amount of waste produced by stage art and exhibition construction”
and “using clean energy in events.”
We are all taking small steps together during the planning, production, and execution phases of our events.
We at Global Produce believe in the power of event production.

Within the SDGs, we particularly focus on No. 8, “Decent Work and Economic Growth.”
We will put even more effort into researching events that can make people active in society smile and thrive.
The power of each event makes the world better, little by little.

New Office “THE CITY”

GP will be moving to its new office, “THE CITY,” starting in November. The Management Department provided detailed updates about the new office as the moving date drew closer, with preparations progressing steadily and the specifics being finalized.

In this kickoff, the concept and design details of the new office were introduced again, raising anticipation among all employees!

GP2024 second half & 2025 business strategy workshop

At the end of the kickoff, a workshop was held to discuss future sales strategies, dividing people into groups based off of hometowns. Each group presented their ideas to President Kouhata, which led to lively discussions accompanied by a bit of tension.

In that workshop, new graduate employees were also encouraged to share their opinions, allowing for the active participation of everyone, regardless of experience or seniority, which was particularly impressive. Additionally, different ideas emerged from each group’s unique perspectives, providing many new insights.

That workshop, initiated at President Kouhata’s direct request, “I want all GP employees to lend their wisdom!” highlighted that GP was an organization where members exchange ideas and truly support one another. It felt like a day that further solidified the organization’s unity, as all GP employees worked together towards growth.

Summary

This kickoff event deepened employee interactions through the sharing of policies via presentations and workshops, strengthening the sense of unity within the organization. It also provided a platform where steady progress could accumulate toward a second phase of growth, including the new office, our sustainability initiatives, and internal system developments.

Everyone at GP will continue to strive for even better event production, so we appreciate your continued support!
