An Awards Ceremony Bringing Surprise, Emotion, and Company Unity

What was the purpose of this event?
The primary goal of the MARK STYLER AWARD 2023 was to recognize employees’ hard work and boost motivation.
Since MARK STYLER operates fifteen fashion brands with nationwide stores, opportunities for all employees to gather in one place are quite rare. This awards ceremony was designed to create a space where employees and store managers from all brands could connect and interact beyond their individual brand boundaries.
Additionally, this year’s event aimed to enhance the understanding of each brand’s unique identity by incorporating presentations from business unit leaders on their strategic directions.

Why did you choose our company to organize this event?
Following the pandemic, MARK STYLER sought to explore different awards ceremony formats. Having collaborated with GP for last year’s awards ceremony, we decided to continue working together to further refine and enhance the experience.
What aspects did you focus on while planning this event?
The main focus was ensuring that every participant felt excited and engaged. To achieve this, the event incorporated several surprise elements, including keeping the identity of the MC a secret, up until the day of the event, and withholding the announcement of award winners until the moment of recognition. These unexpected moments heightened anticipation and excitement for all attendees.
A significant change from the previous year was the shift in the event’s concept. In 2023, the post-pandemic atmosphere led to a more relaxed, party-style standing reception. This year, however, the event focused on strengthening brand identity and company unity, fostering a sense of purpose and team morale.

What were the biggest challenges in executing this event?
One of the most significant challenges was securing a suitable venue within a short preparation time. Since the winners were decided just before the event, maintaining secrecy required involving only a small, trusted team, which also served to place a heavier workload on every individual involved.
What stood out about our company’s support and approach?
The flexibility and quick problem-solving demonstrated by GP were truly invaluable. Even when unexpected situations arose on the day of, GP managed them smoothly, preventing any particularly terrible disruptions. Despite the packed schedule and numerous moving parts, GP efficiently organized everything, reducing the workload for the MARK STYLER team significantly. The reliability and stability of GP’s team have enabled the successful execution of this event year after year, and their continued support is deeply appreciated.

How did participants respond to this event?
The event was very well-received. Many attendees expressed that their motivation had increased and that they were deeply moved by the emotional reactions of the award winners. Others appreciated hearing the strategic visions of business leaders, and the passionate message from the CEO. Many also found it fascinating to see the distinct personalities of each brand. While some participants preferred last year’s more casual party-style event, this year’s structured format provided a different kind of value. Moving forward, various approaches will be explored to strike the right balance.

Did this event achieve its goals?
The event successfully met its objectives. One of the primary goals for this year was to deepen the understanding between brands, and many participants provided feedback confirming that this was achieved.
How do you want to develop this event in the future?
Moving forward, the goal is to increase the prestige and value of awards within the company. Since the event, the HR department has received inquiries from employees asking how they can win an award, showing that it has become a source of motivation. The long-term vision is to make this an accolade that every employee aspires to receive. Additionally, since the timing of the awards ceremony has varied each year, the plan is to establish it as a fixed annual tradition, creating a more structured and highly anticipated event within the company. With continued support, the MARK STYLER AWARD will continue to evolve, becoming an even more significant and impactful event in the future.
