Minami-za is a theater equipped with approximately 1,000 seats and features such as the hanamichi, a distinctive element of kabuki theaters. Iwami Kagura is a traditional performing art that has been passed down since ancient times in the Iwami region of western Shimane Prefecture. Based on Japanese mythology, the dancers wear gorgeous costumes woven with gold and silver threads and expressive masks, accompanied by the unique, melancholic sound of flutes and lively drumming. "Orochi" tells the story of Susanoo-no-Mikoto, a hero from ancient mythology, who slays the Yamata no Orochi (Yamata no Orochi).
