“AI Event Stage Design Focused on Japan” —

Last Update | 2025.07.18 COMPANY

Exploring the Future of Event Design with Creativity and AI

On a quiet afternoon in mid-June, a sudden text message from Kouhata CEO of GP has sent.

“We want to produce the best events for people visiting Japan.”

With that vision as the starting point, GLOBAL PRODUCE held its first-ever AI Perspective Design Competition.

Contest Overview

The theme was “JAPAN EVENTS created by GP”.

Participants used their creativity, sense of world-building, and AI skills to freely design immersive event spaces.

There were only two rules: ・Designs must be highly sophisticated ・Designs must not be overly unrealistic

Tools, prompts, and approaches were all open. That meant each person had to deeply consider what and how they wanted to express. A total of 28 designs were submitted, and they were judged on two simple criteria: Style and Coolness.

Award Winning Works

🏅 Honorable Mention: Hokusai × Nishijin Weaving

by Aketo Yanase

This picture is the one of the earliest submissions and still among the winners.

This design boldly celebrates the beauty and strength of Japan by combining Hokusai’s iconic art with traditional Nishijin textiles.

Shoji-inspired panels, wood textures, and other subtle Japanese elements are carefully incorporated throughout the venue.

Despite the traditional core, the LED visuals and lighting effects inject a modern twist.

Using Mt. Fuji—central to Hokusai’s world—as the main visual symbolizes corporate strength, trust, and timelessness.

🥈 Excellence Award: Japanese Garden × LED Folding Screen

by Karen Ogata

This elegant and refined design captures the Japanese aesthetic of stillness and serenity. A key feature is the large circular LED screen behind the speaker, projecting images of a Japanese garden that evoke depth and tranquility.

Maple trees gently lit from the stage further soften the space.

The entire venue is cohesively styled, with the soft glow of stone lanterns and a flower-path runway reminiscent of water, conveying a sense of harmony and tradition.

The use of folding screen-style LED and circular LED displays gives it strong visual appeal.

🥇 Grand Prize: Kabuki × The Heat of Japan

by Toshiki Kadono

A half-circular screen features ukiyo-e style cherry blossoms, waves, and the sun. Overlaying them is a quiet but striking Kabuki eye motif. Red lasers highlighted the face, while fire effects on either side heightened the intensity.

Not only visually impactful, but the large screen and wide stage layout also make this design highly practical—a perfect blend of “spectacle and functionality.”

A deserving Grand Prize winner with undeniable power.

🎖 Notable Entries

Though not among the final winners, many submissions stood out with unique character and impressive design.

Even within one company, the different ways of interpreting and showcasing the “Japan brand” were enlightening.

GP’s first AI perspective contest

With AI tools becoming more accessible, what’s increasingly important is:

・The imagination to know what to create

・The skill to communicate it effectively

・The literacy to turn it into reality through AI

Through this contest, each members sharpened these abilities and created works that reflected not only visual beauty but also functionality—the hallmark of true producers.

As a company striving to become Japan’s leading team of event producers, GLOBAL PRODUCE hopes this contest showcased the exciting potential of combining AI and creativity.

And if, after reading this, you’re thinking:

“Maybe I’ll give it a try…” or “This might be fun to try at our company…”

—then perhaps this initiative has already achieved a second success.
