“Don’t Throw It Away” Is the New Cool: Sustainable Furniture PALLET DEPO for Offices and Events

Hello, this is Kanta Hani from GP. At GLOBAL PRODUCE, we have introduced tables and sofas from the sustainable furniture brand PALLET DEPO into the café area of our office.
This initiative began with President Kohata’s vision: “I want furniture that symbolizes sustainability—something we can use not only in the office but also at events.” The brand’s strong design aesthetic, which allows the furniture to be used as event décor, along with its exceptional sustainability background, led us to adopt it for our office space.
Giving New Life to “Euro Pallets” That Can’t Be Used in Japan’s Logistics System

Furniture from PALLET DEPO is made from repurposed Euro pallets originally used in logistics across Europe. Because Euro pallets follow standards different from those used in Japan, many of them cannot be reused domestically and have often been discarded as waste upon arrival.
PALLET DEPO, however, reframes these pallets not as “scrap material” but as resources. Through careful processing, they are reborn as tables, benches, sofas, and other forms of furniture.
Traditionally, the event industry has long operated on a cycle of build → dismantle → discard. But moving forward, adopting “long-lasting,” “stylish,” and “reusable” materials will become essential to creating truly sustainable events.
The reason GP uses this furniture in our office is not simply for interior design. By placing it in our daily workspace, employees can interact with it, use it, and naturally learn about its background. This approach helps cultivate a deeper awareness of sustainability across the entire company.
The official PALLET DEPO website showcases numerous examples—from past installations to full-space coordination concepts—making it a valuable resource for generating event design ideas as well.
