Sanrio’s world-renowned metaverse event, “Sanrio Virtual Festival 2025,” was back again this year! Hosted on the social VR platform “VRChat,” the event’s theme for 2025 was “collaboration.”

A VR theme park like no other

Sanrio’s largest metaverse event, “Sanrio Virtual Festival,” made its return! Many fans had been eagerly awaiting its comeback since last year.

It ran from February 9 to March 9), 2025, and this year’s festival focused on “collaboration,” offering an exclusive experience at a VR theme park, completely unlike anything else.

What was the “Sanrio Virtual Festival 2025”?

Before diving into the details, let’s introduce what the “Sanrio Virtual Festival” was. 

This major metaverse event, produced by Sanrio Co., Ltd. and Sanrio Entertainment Co., Ltd., took place on the virtual reality platform, VRChat.

The last festival received over 4 million attendees, and this year’s edition aimed to be even bigger and better under the theme of “collaboration.”

Inside “Virtual Sanrio Puroland,” a vast digital space, virtual artists, creators, and beloved Sanrio characters gathered together to create an immersive experience for both Sanrio fans and metaverse enthusiasts. From virtual music performances to parades, interactive attractions, and community collaborations, there was something for everyone.

An immersive experience that felt like the real Puroland

Built using cutting-edge technology, “Virtual Sanrio Puroland” seamlessly blended the real and virtual worlds. Attendees could join the event using smartphones, PCs, or VR devices, making it easy to participate, no matter where you were. By dressing up in event-exclusive avatars like “Mochipoly,” users could fully dive into the Sanrio metaverse.

Being a highly anticipated event in 2024, the “VIRTUAL IDOL CONTEST feat. Sanrio Virtual Festival” crowned Yuzuki Tia as its winner. She finally showcased her long-awaited performance on February 9, at 20:00.

A new collaboration VR club area appeared!

A special VR club area also happened to debut at this year’s festival.

One of the most exciting features was the collaboration with two popular VR clubs, selected by 0b4k3, the creator of the famous “GHOSTCLUB.” Each club offered its own unique atmosphere and visuals, allowing attendees to enjoy a deep, immersive nightclub experience within the virtual space. Whether you were looking to unwind in a sophisticated setting, or dance the night away, this collaboration made sure to impress.

This festival was packed with various events, performances, and interactive experiences across multiple floors.

The fan-favorite parades returned, featuring four parade themes and three attraction floors. The parades were held daily, while the attraction floors remained open 24/7, allowing visitors to enjoy them anytime.
