ASAKUSA KAGUWA – A Powerful Fusion of Tradition and Innovation in Japanese Entertainment

Opened on January 10, 2024, Asakusa KAGUWA is a dazzling new performance venue in the heart of Asakusa.
The theme: “The Fusion of Tradition and Innovation.”
Blending traditional Japanese motifs such as oiran courtesans, geisha, samurai, and ninja with cutting-edge lighting and sound design, KAGUWA offers a one-of-a-kind stage experience where “classic Japan meets modern entertainment.”
Recently, members of the GP Global Team — Kawaguchi and Kadono — had the pleasure of being invited to attend one of their performances!
A Dense 60 Minutes of Entertainment — From Dance to Audience Participation
The show lasts about 60 minutes, but it feels like it passes in an instant.
From story-driven performances to powerful dances in full samurai armor and dynamic shishimai (lion dance) scenes, each act flows seamlessly into the next, leaving no time to look away.
There are also interactive scenes where the audience is invited to join in, creating a sense of unity that fills the entire venue. It was truly a special experience — sixty minutes that felt like a single moment.

One of the most memorable scenes for me was when a samurai, clad in armor, performed sword choreography (tate) with laser lights. It was the perfect embodiment of the fusion of tradition and the neo-futuristic aesthetic — exactly the kind of performance our own “Dragon Event” aims to achieve.
Photos and Greetings After the Show
What makes KAGUWA particularly delightful is that the experience doesn’t end when the curtain falls.
Photography is allowed, and performers even come down into the audience area for greetings and photo sessions.
Guests can literally take the energy and excitement of the show home with them — a wonderful treat for travelers visiting Japan.
Some audience members were even seen taking selfies while being “bitten” by the lion during the shishimai performance!
Performances Beyond Asakusa – “Traveling Shows”
KAGUWA’s magic isn’t limited to its Asakusa theater.
The troupe can also perform at events and parties throughout Japan and overseas.
From corporate celebrations and international conferences to festive gala dinners, their acts add vibrant flair and a true sense of “Japan.”
Interactive experiences such as kimono dressing or themed photo sessions can also be incorporated, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Japanese culture in a fun and personal way.

Perfect for MICE and Corporate Events
KAGUWA’s versatility makes it ideal for MICE, corporate parties, and incentive programs.
Their mobile performances can adapt to a variety of scenes, such as:
- Opening acts for ceremonies and receptions
- Performances that bring glamour and energy to gala dinners
- Cultural showcases that add a touch of “Japan” to tourism programs
The number of performers, performance length, and content can all be customized to meet event needs.
By adding interactive elements like kimono experiences and commemorative photo sessions, KAGUWA can provide international business events with a mix of Japanese elegance and surprising entertainment value.
In Summary
Asakusa KAGUWA is a unique Japanese entertainment experience that beautifully merges traditional aesthetics with innovative stage production.
Beyond the theater, their traveling performances bring unforgettable cultural moments to corporate and MICE events both in Japan and abroad.

In a global setting, KAGUWA has the power to leave a deep and lasting impression on every attendee.
If you’re looking to add “something distinctly Japanese — but with a modern twist” to your event, Asakusa KAGUWA is the perfect choice.
