A “Five-Senses” Immersive Pop-Up Created by Yoichi Ochiai and m-flo

Hello! This is Miyanaga from GP.
This summer, a slightly mysterious and exciting space appeared right in the heart of Omotesando.
The theme was “LOVE AT FIRST.”

It was a place where art, music, food, and fashion intertwined to create an experience that lets you fall in love through all five senses.
The pop-up was titled “glo™ Hilo | Yoichi Ochiai Omotesando” and was open for a limited two-week run from August 23 to September 7.

About “glo™ Hilo | Yoichi Ochiai Omotesando”

This experiential pop-up store was held in advance of the nationwide release of the new “glo™ Hilo” and “glo™ Hilo Plus” devices.
The concept, “LOVE AT FIRST,” suggests a moment of pure, intuitive connection.

The venue was composed of three distinct areas.
Outside, visitors were greeted by 《Sokkon Kyōmon》, a kinetic mirrored installation by Yoichi Ochiai. The shifting reflective surface captured cityscapes and passersby, offering a sensation of moving between past and future.

Inside, an immersive area wrapped guests in sound produced by m-flo, along with color, light, and texture that expressed the “glo™ Hilo” worldview. It felt less like a display and more like wandering into a new entertainment space that stirred curiosity and emotion.

Three Spaces, Three Moments of “Love at First Sight”

Yoichi Ochiai Art Area

The installation 《Sokkon Kyōmon》 commanded attention at the venue.

The gently wavering mirrored surface changed form moment by moment, reflecting both the city and the visitors themselves.
It conveyed the theme of “the moment a concept comes into being.”
The imagery exists only here, only now, creating a surreal encounter as if stepping into a threshold between realities.
This striking experience served as a strong entry point into the world of glo™ Hilo.

Immersive Area (Indoor)

This area functioned as a truly multi-sensory interactive space.
Visitors could explore color inspirations, scent variations, and visual textures associated with the products.
A notable feature was the AI-based “Hilo Experience” that suggested a personalized sensory path based on simple input.
The result was a deeply individual encounter where each visitor could discover their own interpretation of the brand.

Smoking Lounge Area (Outdoor)

The final area was a relaxed outdoor lounge.
Here, visitors could try “glo™ Hilo” while enjoying exclusive drinks and sweets curated by renowned gastronome Takefumi Hamada.
Soft red drapes moved gently in the breeze, creating a calming atmosphere and adding visual rhythm to the space.

Opening Event

On August 22, the launch event “LOVE AT FIRST BEAT × SIGHT” brought together Yoichi Ochiai, m-flo, and ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS!
As 《Sokkon Kyōmon》 reflected the crowd and cityscape, m-flo’s new track “CHARANGA” and ☆Taku’s spatial sound design layered with the visual performance.
Light, sound, and art blended into an energetic, uplifting atmosphere where guests naturally smiled and swayed along.

ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS! performed using instruments made from repurposed home appliances, adding a uniquely playful and experimental dimension.

Guests also enjoyed custom bandana design and colorful limited sweets and drinks, engaging all five senses in the spirit of “LOVE AT FIRST.”

Being startled by your own reflection, having your body move to music, falling for a scent or flavor—
“glo™ Hilo | Yoichi Ochiai Omotesando” offered an experience where art, music, food, and fashion merged to create moments of sensory connection.
