“KAWAII MONSTER LAND” Opens in Harajuku’s Takeshita Street on February 13!

Hello everyone, this is Kumaki from GP!
Do you remember “KAWAII MONSTER CAFE”, located right in the heart of Harajuku, which created a huge buzz on social media and attracted as many as 700,000 visitors from Japan and overseas?
That Harajuku-style entertainment restaurant left a strong impression and went viral almost overnight. Sadly, KAWAII MONSTER CAFE closed its doors in 2021, much to everyone’s regret.
But now—on February 13, 2026—it’s coming back to Harajuku in an upgraded form!
KAWAII MONSTER LAND – HARAJUKU –
(Kawaii Monster Land – Harajuku –)
Just like KAWAII MONSTER CAFE, this new attraction is produced by artist Sebastian Masuda.
The concept is a “KAWAII Wonderland.”
The story goes: “Long ago, beneath Harajuku, there was a giant amusement park…”
Thinking about what kind of experience awaits in this mysterious underground wonderland hidden beneath Harajuku is truly exciting. Not only young visitors, but families and inbound tourists as well—there’s no doubt that even more people will be drawn to Harajuku than ever before☆
Area Map

With so many colorful and diverse areas you can freely explore, deciding where to start might be the hardest part!
Passing through the “Magic Spiral Gate,” which leads into the monsters’ world, you’ll find the facility’s symbol at the center:
“Choppy’s Mel-Tea Cup Ride.”
Surrounding it are plenty of attractions, including:
- Kawaii Monster Carnival – a street of stalls where you can play games, decorate items, and prepare to join the monsters
- Harajuku Gift Bazaar – where you can pick up KAWAII items
- Colorful Snack Street – offering vibrant food and drinks
There’s so much to enjoy!
