A Convention in Korea That Turned Gratitude into Motivation for What Comes Next — Inspiring Participants to Say, “This Was the Best One Yet!”

Could you tell us about the background behind this event?

This event is held every year and has already taken place more than a total of 30 times. We invite salon owners and distributors who are extremely important to our company, both to express our gratitude for all their hard work over the past year, and to help increase their motivation for what lies ahead. Above all, what matters most to us is creating an occasion that everyone can truly enjoy.

What kinds of feelings or behavioral changes did you hope to inspire among the participants through this event?

We wanted distributors and salon owners from all across Japan to leave feeling, “I’m glad I participated,” “I’m glad I worked so hard this past year,” “I’m so happy that everyone at the sales office is celebrating with us like this,” “I want to work hard again tomorrow for next year,” and “I’m glad to be part of CP Cosmetics.”

With several options available, what made you decide to consult with and ultimately choose GLOBAL PRODUCE?

We have been working with GP for many years, and every time, they propose ideas and production concepts that go beyond what we ourselves had imagined. Even when working within a limited budget, they listen closely to our needs and incorporate fresh ideas that make us think, “Oh, we never thought of doing it that way!”

At the same time, we feel that it would not be right to rely too heavily on just one company, so there are times when we request competing quotes from other companies. Even so, in the end, we always find ourselves saying, “GP really is the team we want to work with!”

During the planning and production stage, was there anything about GP’s proposals or project management that particularly stood out to you?

This time, one particularly memorable element was the production utilizing the venue’s wide-format horizontal LED screen. We also introduced a comment screen—a system that displays participants’ comments and reactions on the screen—which enabled each participant to express and share their thoughts and feelings.

It created memorable moments that we had never experienced at previous events, and the participants really enjoyed it. They could also add reaction stamps to the screen, which made the entire space feel even more vibrant and festive.

Compared with other companies you have worked with in the past, is there anything that you feel is especially characteristic of GP?

I think GP’s willingness to continually take on new challenges is very characteristic of them. In the past, we did not use video production at all, and the event relied entirely on physical stage sets and decorations. Compared with those days, the event has evolved so dramatically that it is almost unrecognizable.

What were some of the challenges you faced on the day of the event, and were there any aspects of GP’s response or approach that were particularly helpful or reassuring?

Because this year’s event was held in Korea, the language barrier was a major challenge.

In an English-speaking country, we can communicate in English, but in Korea, there were many situations where English was not sufficient, and of course communicating in Japanese was also difficult. The language barrier was therefore very significant, and I imagine that coordinating with the local teams under those circumstances must have been quite challenging for GP as well.

Even so, they handled a wide range of details, including the stage area, the flow of people throughout the venue, and support for the training sessions. What particularly impressed me was that they were able to deliver the same level of quality that we would expect from an event held in Japan.

How did participants respond? Were there any particularly memorable comments or feedback from participants?

Actually, when we first announced that this year’s event would be held in Korea, the reaction from participants was somewhat mixed. However, once the event actually took place, the response was extremely positive. Although Korea is relatively close to Japan, participants still enjoyed the satisfaction of traveling overseas, and they were very pleased with the high standards of the hotel, the quality of the food, and how clean and enjoyable the city was.

We also received many comments saying, “This was the best one yet!” It was particularly well-received by some of our more senior salon owners.

Were there any measurable results from surveys, participation rates, social media posts, or other indicators?

In the survey category measuring satisfaction with the production and glamour of the awards ceremony, 94% of respondents said they were satisfied or very satisfied. In addition, 99% responded that the event had helped increase their motivation at work.

Through this project, what kind of company did you feel GLOBAL PRODUCE was?

We have tremendous trust in GLOBAL PRODUCE. First and foremost, their production capabilities are outstanding, as is their ability to create compelling event experiences. We can always count on them!

How would you like to develop this event in the future?

In two years, our company will celebrate its 50th anniversary. That said, rather than focusing too heavily on the fact that it is an anniversary, we want to give something back to the customers, salons, and distributors who have always supported and cared about our company by sharing an enjoyable experience together through this event.

At this point, rather than thinking about how to expand or evolve the event, we would rather prioritize cherishing this occasion and ensuring that it carries on into the future.
