Last Update | 2024.10.18 EVENT

Hi, this is Ema Matsumoto and I will report the recent fashion event held at Tokyo Big Site.

Overview:

This exhibition is the largest fashion exhibition held in Tokyo. This event connects Made in Japan brands and domestic materials with international buyers and it features a collection of high-quality domestic brands and materials. In addition to international buyers, domestic buyers interested in Japanese-made products also participates.

Japan

South Africa

Korea

Below are some interesting products that I came across.

Invisible Hanger

This hanger is called an invisible hanger and it is a hanger made out of a string. This hanger prevents the clothing from stretching on the shoulders and it also makes the clothing to stand out.

Vegan Fashion Brand “Harlie K” (Korea)

This is a vegan fashion brand that promotes sustainablity by reusing Hanji leather, recycled denim, coffee bags for their products. These materials are not simply recycled, it is taken apart and reformed into a new, premium product. After going through the basic process of washing and cutting, professional designers from the senior community and local women carefully elaborate the materials to make a totally different productThis collaboration of ritual and revolution is the key element of this brand.

Waterproof Plastic Bag (China)

This is a bag made in China and it is made out of plastic so it is waterproof.

Conclusion ~The future of fashion×technology~

During this trade show, I was able to immerse myself into the world of sustainable fashion and think about how fashion and technology can greatly impact our living. There was a booth where I was able to experience fitting with the Ipad and I was astonished by how the machine instantly calculated my body size and adjusted the size of the clothing accordingly. In the near future, the huge line at the front of the fitting rooms may no longer be seen.
