The Big Transformation of the GP Office — And the Strategy Behind It

Last Update | 2026.05.27 COMPANY

Hello! This is Ishida from GP.

Recently, the GP office underwent a major transformation. Alongside a complete restructuring of our teams, the office layout itself was redesigned as well.

At first glance, it might simply look like a “seat rearrangement” or an “office improvement project.” But the true purpose behind this redesign is something entirely different.

At its core, this transformation was about updating the way we fight as an organization.

Today, I’d like to take a closer look at the meaning and philosophy behind GP’s office redesign.

Becoming an Organization That Designs “Momentum”

At the center of this layout transformation was a major shift in GP’s team structure.

At GP, every employee is involved in the full event production process — from sales and planning to production and on-site execution. Previously, we operated in smaller teams of around four to six people.

This time, however, the structure changed dramatically. Each team expanded into a much larger organization of roughly ten members.

Regarding the intention behind this change, our CEO Kohata explained it this way:

“We want to use momentum as an advantage. We grow teams that already have strong momentum and gather more people around them.”

As these words suggest, this was not simply a reorganization.

The goal was to amplify the momentum already being generated by high-performing teams and spread that energy throughout the entire company. In other words, it was a deliberate strategy designed to reproduce success intentionally and consistently.

And to support that strategy, we redesigned the physical space itself.

The Circular Layout That Creates Team Unity

One of the defining features of the new office layout is its circular arrangement. Each production division is positioned almost like the control room of a spaceship.

According to CEO Kohata, the concept was:
“A professional team protecting each other’s backs while executing projects together.”

Interestingly, the layout was apparently inspired by the famous NERV command center from Evangelion.

Once the office changed to this structure, the atmosphere within teams changed dramatically as well.

Team members naturally entered each other’s field of view. Conversations began happening more organically. Information sharing became faster, and decision-making grew more dynamic and dense.

The circular structure was designed around the idea that projects are not fought individually, but as a team.

Why We Continue Evolving the Office

Some people may wonder:
“Why go through such a massive effort just to redesign an office layout?”

The answer is simple:
Because we want to continue evolving.

CEO Kohata often says:
“It’s important to keep innovating and continue finding creative solutions.”

He also adds:
“If I were the client, I’d want to work with a company like that.”

Referencing words from Steve Jobs, he emphasizes that creativity is born from casual conversations and unexpected discussions.

In other words, an office is not simply a container for work.

It is a device that stimulates movement, conversation, and new ideas.

When people remain in a fixed environment for too long, their thinking can also become fixed. That is exactly why we continue changing the environment — to continuously shake up the way we think.

That philosophy is deeply reflected in this office transformation.

In fact, after the redesign was completed, the internal response was even more positive than expected.

CEO Kohata himself said:
“Everyone reacted far more positively than I imagined.”

The office certainly became more functional, but it also gained a strong sense of visual beauty.

At the same time, however, it was intentionally designed not to feel too perfect.

By leaving small amounts of openness and subtle irregularity, the office still allows room for movement, spontaneity, and communication to naturally emerge.

Rather than creating something overly polished and fixed, the goal is to create something that continues moving and evolving.

That is the philosophy behind this office.

Final Thoughts

What GP ultimately aims to create is:
“An office where people naturally cross paths and collaboration emerges organically.”

And importantly, we do not believe this is something you create once and complete forever.

An office is never a finished product.
It should continue evolving alongside the organization itself.

This major transformation is only the first step.

But we believe this step will accelerate the momentum of our teams and lead to even greater creative output moving forward.

And if there were a team working every day in an environment like this—

Wouldn’t you want to entrust your projects to them as well?

The GP office will continue to evolve.
